Nature's Community Classroom
This thesis explores how the built environment can facilitate learning, inspire curiosity and engage students. The focus is on designing spaces that best support teaching practices and varied learning styles. Integrated building design can be used to foster effective teaching methods and sustainable learning habits.
The site, Candlestick Point Park, provides opportunities for hands-on real-world activities and community involvement, which are central to this schools’ philosophy. The school is situated in the context of the natural environment as hands-on experiences and observations are integral across all subjects.
